Article 49 - Notice of Termination

المادة 49 - إشعار إنهاء العمل

Either party to the employment contract may terminate it without giving the reasons for termination. In this case, the party intending to terminate the contract shall notify the other party in writing as follows:

• For workers who receive their wages annually or monthly, the notice period shall be at least one month.
• For other workers, the notice period shall be at least two weeks.
• If the contract is terminated without observing these periods, the party terminating the contract shall be obligated to compensate the other party for an amount equivalent to the worker's wage for the notice period or the remaining part thereof.

يجوز لأي من طرفي عقد العمل إنهاؤه دون إبداء الأسباب. وفي هذه الحالة يجب على الطرف الذي يرغب في إنهاء العقد إخطار الطرف الآخر كتابةً كما يلي:

• بالنسبة للعمال الذين يتقاضون أجورهم سنوياً أو شهرياً، لا تقل مدة الإخطار عن شهر.
• بالنسبة للعمال الآخرين، لا تقل مدة الإخطار عن أسبوعين.
• إذا تم إنهاء العقد دون مراعاة هذه المدد، يلتزم الطرف الذي أنهى العقد بتعويض الطرف الآخر عن مبلغ يعادل أجر العامل عن مدة الإخطار أو المدة المتبقية منه.
